Refunding your purchase?
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, or no longer need the item purchased, you can return any item to us in its original condition* within 30 days** of purchase with a valid receipt. The item must be in a resalable condition. We cannot accept returns or exchanges for items where the uniform is no longer valid, for example if the school have since changed their uniform and the new uniform is now stocked.
*Original condition is classed as unworn or unused so please take all reasonable care and keep all packaging intact and labels attached.
**Our refund policy remains 30 days from date of purchase or dispatch.
If requesting bespoke embroidery or personalising please ensure you check the sizes carefully as refunds cannot be offered once items have been embroidered with personal names/initials. If you are unsure of size then please visit one of our stores or refer to our Size Guide.
If you have ordered a special size we do not stock, these items are non-returnable.
We monitor quality of stock on an ongoing basis and make our best efforts to ensure that it conforms to description, is of a satisfactory quality and is fit for purpose as stated in the Sale of Goods Act 1979. We allow a 100-day period for the return of any goods that you do not feel meet these guidelines and if confirmed we will refund or replace without delay.
In some cases, if we feel that we would like further advice from a manufacturer to ascertain if the item has a manufacturing fault, we reserve the right to return the item to them for their comments. We will make sure this is done in a reasonable time and we reach a conclusion as soon as possible. Please note, we cannot accept photographs as proof of a fault, and do need the item to be returned to us in order to be able to replace. We cannot send out a replacement before receiving the faulty goods back. Smiths Schoolwear reserve the right to make the decision as to whether an item is faulty or not/requires a replacement.
How to return
To a store
You can either return to our Enfield or Cockfosters store free of charge. If you are wanting to exchange an item please call the branch you are planning to visit to check stock availability before you travel. If the item is not in stock, we endeavour to transfer any goods to the branch that is most convenient for you.
Send back via mail
If you are unable to return your goods to one of our stores, you can post your returns to us. We strongly recommend that items are sent back by tracked delivery. This means that if your parcel is lost in transit you will be able to claim from the carrier for the goods. Smiths Schoolwear will not accept responsibility if the items are lost or damaged and do not cover the costs of returning via mail.

This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.
